MIAMI -- The Dallas Mavericks might be the last team the Miami Heat want to see. Riding a 12-game win streak, the Heat play host tonight to the team that's stopped five separate streaks in barely the first two months of the season.

The Heat have won 12 in a row, which matches the Mavs' win streak that was snapped last week, and is one shy of the Boston Celtics' streak of 13, the longest in the league this season.

"It would be good to go down there and break this one," Mavs center Tyson Chandler said.

Dallas has already snapped one 12-game streak belonging to the San Antonio Spurs, who are on another streak and look to get to nine in a row tonight at home against the Phoenix Suns. The Mavs have also taken down the New Orleans Hornets' eight-game streak, the Utah Jazz's seven-game streak and five-gamers held by the Celtics and Oklahoma City Thunder.

Three of the Mavs' five streak busters have come on the road, not that Mavs coach Rick Carlisle is concentrating on streaks.

"We've had streaks of ours end, we've ended other teams' streaks," Carlisle said. "There's a lot of stuff going on during an NBA season. The most important thing is to concentrate on playing your game as well as you can."
