Kings make run, then Kidd goes crazy

DALLAS -- Jason Kidd rarely scores 17 points in game, but he dropped 17 on the Kings in the third quarter on five 3-pointers and he's 6-of-6 from beyond the arc for the game.

He led a huge charge after the Kings started the quarter on an 18-7 run to tie the game at 68-68. Roddy Beaubois made the same early appearance as he did in the first quarter and showed more terrific speed in transition and he nailed his first 3-pointer of the season from the wing.

Peja Stojakovic added a 3-pointer as the Mavs buried seven in the quarter to build a 96-76 lead with Dirk Nowitzki just along for the ride, scoreless in the third.

Through three quarters, Kidd has 20 points, one shy of his season high. Nowitzki has 13, Shawn Marion and Stojakovic each have 12 and Beaubois has 11.

As for where Beaubois' so far more than 16 minutes have come: DeShawn Stevenson and J.J. Barea have each played eight minutes.
