Corey Brewer packed no bitterness for his trip back to Minnesota.

“It’s always good to go back to Minnesota, especially to go get a win,” said Brewer, who was traded by the Timberwolves to the Knicks in the Carmelo Anthony deal before receiving a buyout and signing with the Mavericks.

Brewer’s tenure in Minnesota didn’t quite go as he hoped after being selected with the seventh overall pick in the 2007 draft. The Timberwolves never came close to sniffing the playoffs during Brewer’s tenure in the Twin Cities.

But Brewer harbors no ill will toward the T-Wolves. He certainly isn’t upset about being traded now that he’s finally on a team prepping for a playoff run.

“I had a great three and a half years,” Brewer said. “I love Minnesota. I wish it didn’t end the way it ended, but on to a new beginning.”

Brewer planned to take advantage of the quick trip to Minnesota by packing up as much of his belongings as possible. He’s been living in a suitcase since getting shipped to New York before the trade deadline.
