MIAMI – The Mavericks’ 2006 Finals flop against the Miami Heat isn’t on Jason Terry’s mind.
But a piece of that series was on Terry’s body the night before the Mavs will tip off these Finals in Miami.
Terry always wears a pair of the opponent’s game shorts to bed the night before games, a superstition that dates to his college days. His Heat shorts were donated by a foe after the 2006 Finals.
“Gary Payton gave me some back when they beat us,” Terry said.
Terry didn’t see anything strange about putting on a pair of shorts an opponent wore during the most painful playoff series loss in Mavericks history. And the shorts didn’t cause him to have any bad dreams.
“I slept good,” Terry said.
