Dirk Nowitzki picked up his second ESPY of the night, taking the title of "Best Male Athlete." The NBA Finals MVP beat out Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, NASCAR champion Jimmie Johnson and tennis star Rafael Nadal.

Prior to the ESPYs hitting the air, Nowitzki won for "Best NBA Player."

With his teammates in attendance at L.A. Live, Nowitzki graciously accepted the award, avoided tears and thanked his fellow NBA champs and sort of indirectly -- lockout rules apply -- thanked team owner Mark Cuban, who was looking dapper in a white Oxford and sport coat.

"Obviously, our teammates have been unbelievable," Nowitzki said on stage. "When I was down all season long they picked me up, and it's a team sport and you can't do it without those guys; love those guys. We went through so much this year and it was blast.

"I also want to thank Mark Cuban, but since I can't talk to him you've got to say hello to him."

Nowitzki can score the hat trick if the Mavs are voted as "Best Team" later in the show. They're up against the Boston Bruins, San Francisco Giants, Green Bay Packers, Auburn Tigers and Texas A&M women's basketball team.
