The NBA still won't recognize players on the league's website during the ongoing lockout, but nothing is stopping it from releasing the 2011-12 schedules as though everything's just peachy. First came the regular season schedule and today we have the preseason schedule.

Why not announce the rosters from the 1980s will be used in those games?

Anyway, if the league and the players union come together on a new collective bargaining agreement within the next month or so, the defending world champion Dallas Mavericks -- who might or might not include the likes of Tyson Chandler and Caron Butler -- will begin their eight-game preseason slate on Oct. 11 at the Indiana Pacers.

Here's the schedule:
Oct. 11 at Indiana, 7 p.m.
Oct. 13 vs. Sacramento, 7:30 p.m.
Oct. 16 vs. Oklahoma City, 6:30 p.m.
Oct. 20 at Charlotte, 7 p.m.
Oct. 21 at Washington, 7 p.m.
Oct. 24 vs. Indiana, 7:30 p.m.
Oct. 26 vs. Atlanta, 7:30 p.m.
Oct. 28 at New Orleans, 8:30 p.m. (ESPN)
