Barea led the way with six assists, five rebounds and four steals to go with 11 points as Puerto Rico defeated Canada on Tuesday in the FIBA Americas tournament in Argentina. Puerto Rico is now 4-1 and into the semifinals with undefeated Argentina, Brazil (4-1) and Wednesday's opponent, the Dominican Republic (4-1).
The tournament is in the final week of play with the two 2012 Olympic qualifiers to be determined Sunday.
In Wednesday's game against Canada, Carlos Arroyo led Puerto Rico with 26 points. Barea is averaging 10.8 points and nearly nine assists a game.
