DALLAS -- So little practice time, so little time for ailments and injuries. But that's the way it goes as the Dallas Mavericks were down two players, forwards Brian Cardinal and Brandan Wright, for Saturday's practice.
Mavs coach Rick Carlisle said he believes Cardinal will be ready to play in Sunday nights' first of two exhibition games against the Oklahoma City Thunder over the next three days. The coach said he's not sure on Wright's situation.
Cardinal, in his second season with the defending champs, is well-versed in the system, but the newcomer Wright could use as much court time as possible as he fights for minutes behind Dirk Nowitzki and perhaps so more so as a backup center.
