At the half: Mavs 48, Lakers 48
With both on the floor, Nowitzki finally got hot, hitting a couple of shots late as the Mavs finished off a 20-6 run to close the half tied.
Nowitzki got his first bucket of the half with 39.7 seconds to go. He was getting frustrated with Pau Gasol draped all over him and started throwing around his arms to get Gasol off. Nowitzki got the ball at the top of the circle, spun, got into the lane and dropped in a floater. Then he knocked down a jumper to tie it up with four seconds to go.
Vince Carter is having a great half with 18 points that includes three 3s. Nowitzki has eight after a slow start and Shawn Marion has six.
Gasol has 16 for the Lakers, Andrew Bynum has nine and Kobe has just five on 1-of-6 shooting with three assists.
