DALLAS -- In the last three games, the Dallas Mavericks have been outrebounded 152-111 overall and 37-16 on the offensive glass.

They've been outrebounded by an average of 17.0 in those three games, second-chance points stand at 50-23 in favor of the opposition and Dallas is a missed Chase Budinger 3-pointer at the overtime buzzer Saturday night in Houston from going 0-3.

The Rockets, in town tonight after that narrow loss three nights ago, had 52 rebounds and manufactured 25 second-chance points on 16 offensive rebounds. The silver lining for Dallas is that only six of those points came in the second half and overtime.

So there is hope.

With center Brendan Haywood almost surely out for a sixth consecutive game tonight, the Mavs are putting a focus on team rebounding.

And for good reason. When they get outrebounded by 10 or more they are 4-7.

"It needs to be an all-around effort," guard Vince Carter said. "We can’t always say our bigs are going to rebound tonight. No, we all have to go in and help. We’ve said that since Day One. Regardless of how well some of our bigs rebound, we all have to do it."
