The Mavericks have recalled Kelenna Azubuike from the Texas Legends now that the D-League season is over and the club has moved on from Lamar Odom.

The 6-foot-5 Azubuike was signed as a free agent on March 23 and immediately assigned to the Legends. During his time in Frisco, he appeared in seven games and averaged 6.4 points and 3.4 rebounds in 12.9 minutes.

Azubuike played in nine games in 2009-10 before a catastrophic knee injury ended his season and put his career in jeopardy. The Mavs are hoping he can regain the quickness that made him an intriguing young player with the Warriors.

The hope was to let him get back in action with the Legends and give him a chance to be a contributor in Dallas next season.
