'Mavstoberfest' will feature band, beer and basketball
Other than $5 for parking, there is no cost to attend Saturday's event at the American Airlines Center.
The doors open to the general public at 4 p.m, when the Royal Klobasneks will take the stage in the arena bowl. Mavs ManiAACs and dancers will sign autographs, as will former Mavs Rolando Blackman and Brad Davis and ex-NBA slam dunk champion Spud Webb.
The Royal Klobasneks are a seven-piece polka band based out of Dallas. Maybe multiskilled musician Dirk Nowitzki will join the band for a bit, since he won't take part in the practice due to his sore knee. (UPDATE: Nowitzki will practice, but that shouldn't stop him from joining the band.)
The open practice will begin at 5:30 p.m.
This being a 'Toberfest event, there will also be plenty of beer flowing. Fans of drinking age can stop by the plaza concourse outside section 101 to sample special German brews, courtesy of MillerCoors. There will be more than 30 craft beers available for purchase.
