Dirk Nowitzki trivia to wow your friends

You actually have to rewind to April 5, 1995 – nearly four years before Nowitzki’s first NBA game -- for the Mavs’ last Dirk-less win over L.A.
And that rare eclipse of a victory was recorded at Reunion Arena. According to the Elias Sports Bureau, before Tuesday night’s 99-91 shocker, Dallas hadn’t won’t a road game against the Lakers without Nowitzki dating back to a win at the Great Western Forum way back on Dec. 12, 1990.
So, yes, Nowitzki was exaggerating slightly when he tweeted about the Mavs taking a 1-0 record into Utah on Wednesday night “as expected.”
