DALLAS -- You would think the Mavericks' depth would be tested tonight against Toronto.
"Depth? What depth?" coach Rick Carlisle asked sarcastically. "We don't have it anymore. We need everybody."
They don't have a lot of bodies.
Dirk Nowitzki continues to rehab from arthroscopic knee surgery. He's expected to make his season debut at some point this month.
Shawn Marion sprained the MCL in his left knee Monday night. He'll miss at least the next three games.
Elton Brand left the team to be with his wife for the birth of their child. He's expected to rejoin the Mavs in New York for Friday's game against the Knicks.
And Rodrigue Beaubois will miss third straight game due to a sprained ankle.
"We've got a deep team -- or at least we used to," owner Mark Cuban said. "We need guys to step up, and so far they have."
