STOCK UP

Shawn Marion: “Matrix” was a major reason the Mavs swept their three-game road trip. The highlight of the trip was his 32-point performance against the Minnesota Timberwolves, marking his highest scoring total of his Mavs tenure. He was outstanding on the rest of the trip, too, starting with his 14-point, 13-rebound double-double against his hometown Chicago Bulls and ending with his nine-point, nine-rebound performance against the Washington Wizards. Marion averaged 18.3 points, 9.3 rebounds and 3.0 assists on the trip, shooting 67.6 percent from the floor. The Mavs outscored their opponents by 34 points during Marion’s 95 minutes. This was the first time this season that he had a positive plus-minus in three consecutive games.

STOCK DOWN

Dirk Nowitzki: Even before he sprained his left ankle in the first minute of Wednesday’s win over the Wizards, Nowitzki never got in his normal groove during the road trip. He had totals of only 43 points and 13 rebounds in the three games and was just 16-of-46 (34.8 percent) from the floor. Nowitzki didn’t score a single point in the first quarters of the three games. Now he has to deal with a sore ankle. Nowitzki played 32 minutes against the Wizards, but he didn’t participate in the Mavs’ Friday morning shootaround and will be a game-time decision against the Los Angeles Clippers.
