NEW ORLEANS -- The Mavericks are without their top two options for starting small forwards.

Wayne Ellington, who replaced Shawn Marion in the starting lineup in Wednesday's loss to the San Antonio Spurs, is not playing against the New Orleans Pelicans because of an illness. It's the second time Ellington has missed a game because he was sick this season.

Marion remains in Dallas, nursing bruised ribs and a right shoulder contusion suffered in Tuesday's win over the Los Angeles Lakers. Coach Rick Carlisle said he doesn't expect Marion to be able to play in Saturday night's home game against the Pelicans, either.

Jae Crowder, Vince Carter and rookie Ricky Ledo are the only healthy small forwards on the Mavs' roster.
