Marion (ribs, shoulder) out vs. Magic

UPDATE: Shawn Marion said before the game that he would not play against the Magic.

DALLAS -- Mavericks forward Shawn Marion participated in shootaround and is considered a game-time decision Monday night against the Orlando Magic.

Marion, the Mavs’ leading rebounder and best defender, missed the last three games after suffering bruised ribs and a shoulder contusion when he crashed to the floor during Tuesday’s win over the Los Angeles Lakers.

“It’s a comfort level,” Marion told reporters after shootaround. “It’s hard to sleep with, still. But a lot of the pain is gone away. It was painful, but it’s definitely improved. I’ll continue to treat it today and see where we are tonight.”

Coach Rick Carlisle told reporters that swingman Wayne Ellington (illness) is available and point guard Shane Larkin (sprained right ankle) is questionable.
