DALLAS – Monta Ellis did not practice Saturday due to a bruised thigh.
It’d be surprising if the injury affects Ellis’ status for Sunday night’s home game against the Brooklyn Nets.
Ellis, who led the Mavs with 26 points and seven assists in Friday’s win over the Denver Nuggets, is the only Dallas player to have played in every game this season. He played despite a strained hamstring on the three-game road trip before the All-Star break and battled through an illness earlier this week.
“I just hate sitting on the sideline,” Ellis said earlier this week. “I’ve always been like that my whole life. I love the game of basketball so much that I can’t sit on the sideline and watch. If I have the ability to walk into the gym, I have the ability to go out on the court and play basketball. That’s just my mentality.”
