Can the Super Bowl get over this mark?
By Calvin Watkins
ARLINGTON, Texas -- The NBA All-Star Game set a Guinness World Record basketball attendance record of 108,713.
The previous largest crowd at Cowboys Stadium was 105,121 on Sept. 20, when the Cowboys lost to the Giants, 33-31, in the first NFL regular-season game at the venue.
As for the Super Bowl in 2011, the capacity might be set for close to 100,000.
The largest crowd at a Super Bowl came in Super Bowl XIV when 103,985 showed up for the Rams-Steelers game.
Can Jerry Jones get close to that next year?
"The assumption is if you had a highly competitive situation where they’re playing for the world championship, can you imagine 100,00 people?" Jones said. "This place would go nuts."
