Jet gets rid of mask for good
By Tim MacMahon
Jason Terry was happy to be rid of his protective mask.
DALLAS -- Jason Terry got the doctor's permission to trash the mask this time.
Terry got a stern lecture from his surgeon when he played without the protective mask a couple of weeks after undergoing surgery to repair a fractured orbital bone. He was told an elbow to the face would put him in the operating room again, ending his season.
But Terry said the doc gave his OK to go mask-free for the playoffs.
"I was cleared, so it's all good," he said.
Well, it wasn't all good for Jet. Like the mask, his jumper was nowhere to be found in Game 1 against the Spurs. The Mavs managed to win despite their sixth man missing seven of nine shots from the floor.
