Jason Kidd limited to jogging at practice
By Jeff Caplan
DALLAS -- Mavericks coach Rick Carlisle continues to hold Jason Kidd's status close to the vest. Kidd was on the practice floor Tuesday, but only to do some light jogging.
It would seem likely that Kidd will miss his sixth consecutive game with a strained right calf and his 10th overall on the season. Dallas starts a two-game road trip at Denver on Wednesday night and plays at Minnesota on Friday.
"He's doing some stuff, but again I'm not going to get into a daily Kidd update," Carlisle said. "We'll let you know when he's going to play."
Dallas went 4-0 without Kidd in January when he sat with back spasms but is just 2-3 without him during this stretch. Turnovers have been a problem during the three-game losing skid and Jason Terry and Dirk Nowitzki have both expressed their desire to have Kidd return and reclaim the struggling offense.
"He's going to find you in the spot that you like to get your shots and that's key," Terry said. "You can't ask anyone else to do that for you. It's just a special skill set that he has and we welcome him back whenever he comes, hopefully it's sooner than later."
Asked if Kidd was able to do much during Monday's practice, Terry said: "I didn't see it, so that's all I'm going to say."
