Stock Report: O.J. Mayo up, Rodrigue Beaubois down
By Tim MacMahon
Our weekly look at which Mavs’ stock has risen and fallen the most:
O.J. Mayo -- He’s performed like an All-Star shooting guard over the last week. Mayo averaged 28 points during the Mavs’ 3-0 homestand, shooting 57.7 percent from the floor. Mayo, who leads the NBA in 3-pointers made with 21, has been ridiculously hot from long range. He made 16 of 24 3-point attempts during the three-game winning streak. When the Raptors made Mayo their defensive priority, trapping him 25 feet from the basket several times, he did an excellent job as a distributor. Mayo had six assists and no turnovers in that game.
Rodrigue Beaubois -- You can’t blame Beaubois for turning his ankle in practice, but the injury-prone guard is out again. He’s likely to return Friday night against the Knicks after missing the previous three games, but it will be interesting to see whether Beaubois gets the backup point guard minutes right away. Dominique Jones did a solid job during the homestand, dishing out 17 assists in 43 minutes.
