Dirk Nowitzki among Texas HOF nominees


Mavericks forward Dirk Nowitzki is one of 20 nominees for 2011 class of the Texas Sports Hall of Fame.

Other notables on the list include the Spurs' Tim Duncan, the recently retired Shaquille O'Neal, Chicago Bears coach Lovie Smith, Texas football coach Mack Brown and former Texas Tech and Dallas Cowboys linebacker Zach Thomas.

Nowitzki, a native of Wurzburg, Germany, has played for the Mavericks for 13 years.

The Class of 2011 will be announced in September.
