Kevin Hartman earns 100th career shutout in FCD win

FC Dallas locked down the defense again last night against the New England Revolution, earning Kevin Hartman his 100th career shutout and the 1-0 vistory. The shutout was the seventh of the season for goalkeeper Kevin Hartman, who became the first player in Major League Soccer history to earn 100 career clean sheets.

"It certainly is something I'm extremely proud of," said Hartman when asked about the 100th shutout. "I feel like I'm part of something here in Dallas. I feel like I've played on some great teams in the past where guys would work both sides of the ball, and shutouts are always something that takes more than just a goalkeeper."

The FCD offense is still out of sink and the club struggles to replace the influence of David Ferreira. One positive sign, Marvin Chavez finally got on the score sheet with a goal in the 69th minute.

FC Dallas dominated possession from the first whistle, dominating possession 61% to 39% and out shooting the Revs 16 to 3 on the night. “[Possession] is something we’ve been working on, coach Hyndman said after the game. "It’s nice to be able to say we’ve been working on something and then see the progression. I really thought it was better tonight." Hopefully positive steps for FCD in perhaps their most dominate display since they lost their MVP.
