Sellout crowd cheers on U.S. women

FRISCO, Texas -- Despite near-freezing temperatures Saturday, only standing-room tickets were available at FC Dallas Stadium for the U.S. women's national team's match against New Zealand.

A sellout crowd of 20,500 is expected in Frisco. The last time a crowd of 20,000 or more saw the U.S. women was in 2004.

The U.S. is on a seven-game winning streak against New Zealand. The last match was a 4-0 win in Shanghai during the 2008 Olympics.

The match will serve as a warm-up before the opening game of the Algarve Cup in Portugal on Feb. 29.

The team is on a hot streak coming into Frisco. They dominated the CONCACAF qualifying tournament en route to qualifying for the 2012 London Olympics. They outscored their opponents 38-0 in five games.

New Zealand is still looking to capture the final Olympic spot in Oceania qualifying.
