FC Dallas news recap (8/25)

FCD Technical Director Barry Gorman is starting a travel blog. This could be interesting. Gorman says Bryan Leyva and Ruben Luna are just the tip of the local talent iceberg.

Wednesday's official training report.

Here's an un-official training report from our sometimes contributor Daniel Robertson. He talks to Hyndman, Hartman, Pearce, and John. He also mentions what I had heard this morning, that Kyle Davis is back in training, Dax McCarty is in rehab phase, and Ugo Ihemelu isn't doing anything.

FYI I hear it's a week or two before Ihemlu can train.

Pat Martin of the Miami Herald writes about Schellas Hyndman and the good results FCD is getting. Interesting quote...

"Going from an environment like SMU where you are very comfortable after 26 years and everybody loves you and expects a winner, and you've become a winner, to an environment where people are questioning your coaching abilities, your managing abilities, that was tough," Hyndman told The Sports Network. "It's a different level, there are different expectations. I'm hoping those were the worst of times."

Steven Sandor of ClamSports says the West is the best and FCD is one of the two hottest teams in MLS.

In his weekly notes, Joshua Mayers talks some FCD playoff spots and gives us some notes on the Crew game.

Robert Walker of the Dallas Examiner has seven things he learned from FCD vs Chivas. Although I think Jackson would go right with Pearce left IF Benitez sits.

Steve Davis says FC Dallas is "in" the playoffs.

Columbus Crew, the next FCD opponent.

J Hutcherson of USSoccerPlayers.com says the Crew have a though burden with the CONCACAF schedule.
