FC Dallas news recap (9/16)

Andy Friedlander in The Dallas Morning News has a nice feature on coach Schellas Hyndman. I would have like to have heard from someone who predated Hyndman to talk about the changes in the locker room, but overall a good piece.

The FCD Charity Challenge continues. This time it's to the benefit of the Frisco YMCA.

Steve Hunt writes about Hartman chasing the franchise shutout mark. There have been some good keepers here in Dallas.

“Matt [Jordan] is somebody I still have a ton of respect for. I know Mark Dodd is somebody that was here for a long time that I loved watching. There’s a history of goalkeeping at FC Dallas that I have a lot of respect for. It would certainly be an honor to be up there for the top of that.”

Noah Davis has a bit on the search for the next great American striker and he mentions Brek Shea... who plays left mid for FCD. Just saying.

J Hutcherson wonder why FCD isn't in first place. I'll tell you why, scoring (or lack there of) from strikers.

The Seattle Times picked up the roster expanding story.

Frisco ISD is considering schooling FCD players.

The board may consider a policy amendment that allows players to attend Frisco ISD while in this developmental program, said spokeswoman Shana Wortham.

New York Game Previews

Goal.com has their team vs team preview. Each reviewer picks a win for their team. Shocking.

Once a Metro has a preview about the Dallas Burn. Oh that's clever, I see what you did there.

FCD notebook has George John questionable and raises the Milton Rodriguez vs Jeff Cunningham question.

Daniel Robertson has a nice game preview with some keys to the game and other good stats.

Kristian Dyer says Marquez is the key to the game.

Steve Hunt says Juan Pablo Angel has been killing FCD.

You can find the FCD PR game preview here.

The Dallas Morning News preview isn't great.... and the Star-Telegram preview may be even worse.

Non-FCD stories

New York added Mehdi Ballouchy and there are some questions about Juan Pablo Angel returning in 2011.

The Red Bulls also added Carey Talley.

Here's a fun story about Thierry Henry that is just chock full of awesome soccer quotes.

I was looking up the FCD video preview of tonight's NYRB game and came across a couple others worth mentioning. First it's the afore mentioned preview...

Then a video on FCD's unbeaten streak.

And a FCD video about the start of the next FCD Academy season.

And last but not least, the highlights from the last time these two teams played. One of the two losses FCD has on the entire regular season.
