Wallace to Colorado trade opens the door for Jackson

By Buzz Carrick

Earlier today, FC Dallas traded Anthony Wallace to Colorado for two draft picks.  Wallace had fallen to third on the depth chart at left back and was thus expendable.  Coach Schellas Hyndman needed to clear a roster spot to bring in FCD's target signing, who our sources say is former trialist Jackson.

Jackson is a 22 year old right back from Sao Paulo who impressed the coaching staff during his trial.  While no deal is officially done at this point, Coach Hyndman did indicate he needed to move a player to bring in his wanted target.  The move bears particular watching because Jackson's signing may allow Hyndman to switch to his preferred diamond 4-4-2 formation.

Wallace was originally selected by FCD as a Generation adidas player but was moved to the senior roster before this season.  Wallace never demonstrated the work ethic and determination that Hyndman relishes.  I wrote a couple weeks ago that it was time to move Wallace on as he appeared to have lost all interest in training and needed a fresh start.
