Dallas Stars defenseman Nicklas Grossman will miss Wednesday’s World Championship game between Sweden and the United States with a knee injury, according to Team Sweden.

Grossman had tests done Tuesday on the knee, which is the same one he injured late in the NHL season. That MCL injury kept him out the final Stars’ final ten games.

“We have found nothing other than what we thought before. It is the internal ligament which he has had problems with before, " Swedish team doctor Peter Strom told Aftonbladet about the tests done Tuesday. “We'll take it day by day and see where it goes.”

Grossman could try some light skating on Wednesday, but won’t play in the game against the United States.

Grossman was injured in Monday’s game against Austria when he collided with teammate Magnus Paajarvi early in the third period
