Eriksson, Swedes advance to title game at Worlds

May, 13, 2011
Dallas Stars forward Loui Eriksson is headed to the gold medal game at the World Championship in Slovakia after Sweden defeated Czech Republic 5-2 today in the semifinals.

Eriksson had no points, five shots on goal and an even rating in 17:01 of playing time. He did have a great opportunity to score, but missed on a penalty shot that would have put the Swedes up 3-1 in the second period.

Erikson has 4 points (3 goals, 1 assist) and a plus-6 rating in 8 games for Sweden, which will play Finland, a 3-0 winner over Russia, in Sunday's gold medal game. Russia and Czech Republic will play for the bronze.
