|"A smooth skater with very good mobility and feet for his size, he possesses good puck skills and on ice vision. He creates his points by carrying and effectively distributes the puck to his teammates. He has the mobility, size, frame and strength to be very effective in his own zone but has not shown the same grit as noted last year." - International Scouting Services 2011 Draft Guide
"Mobile, puck moving defenceman with good size should do well in 'new NHL' given his good vision and hockey sense. Has lots of offensive jump and extremely quick feet. Likes to pinch and force the action at the offensive blue line - occasionally overaggressive. Shows very good PP tools with good vision and distribution skills, plus hard shot." - Red Line Report 2011 Draft Guide
"He'll be an offensive-defenseman … he's a good skater, good puck-mover. He has a good shot and is very poised with the puck. He's a veteran who has a lot of responsibilities for Saint John." - Chris Bordeleau, NHL Central Scouting
