Brad Richards won't waive no-trade, will hit market

This is not a big surprise, but a Dallas Stars official said that Brad Richards' agent Pat Morris has told Dallas Stars GM Joe Nieuwendyk that Richards will not waive his no-trade clause to pave the way for a deal to move his rights before free agency opens on July 1.

"That's their right, but it's frustrating from our end. But what can you do, right?," Nieuwendyk told ESPN.com, the disappointment in his voice clear as day. "We'll just turn the page, but it's real disappointing."

Nieuwendyk had been trying to move Richards' rights to get something in return before he hits the market as an unrestricted free agent.

Richards is expected to be on the most sought after free agents in what is a thin class this summer.
