The Dallas Stars used their fifth round pick (135th overall) to pick 6-6, 200 pound defenseman Troy Vance from Victoriaville of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.
Vance, who models his style of play after Buffalo's Tyler Myers, said the Stars are the team that helped him make the jump from the EMJHL to the QMJHL and that improved his stock in the draft.
"It's amazing to [get drafted by the Stars] because they're the ones that helped me get out to Victoriaville," Vance said. "It all comes back around to them. They got me going."
