*Unrestricted free agent Brad Richards made his decision Saturday, choosing to join the New York Rangers. It's a nine-year, $60 million deal for the ex-Dallas Stars. Los Angeles, Toronto and Calgary were the other contenders. Details are here.
*Richards wasn't the first of Dallas' unrestricted free agents to sign a contract with another NHL team. That turned out to be center Aaron Gagnon, who signed a two-year deal with the Jets according to various media reports out of Winnipeg.
