Not all hockey publications are predicting the Dallas Stars to miss the playoffs in 2011-12. Take the McKeen’s Hockey Pool Yearbook 2011-12 for example.

The Canadian publication has the Stars finishing fourth in the Pacific Division, but making the postseason as the eighth place team in the Western Conference.

McKeen’s noted that the Stars were a surprise last season and ended up just one win away from a playoff spot. And, McKeen's pointed out that almost all the key players from that team remain.

“This is certainly not a team to be taken lightly,” McKeen’s said. “Even without (Brad) Richards, the Stars have the personnel to be a surprise again this season.”

Here’s a look at how McKeen’s sees the West playing out this season.

Here’s a look at the predictions for the Stars from the various hockey yearbooks.
