Here are a few notes from Monday's practice in Frisco. The Stars have added Jamie Benn and Adam Burish to the list of players they are being cautious with right now. Those two players have sore groins.
"We don't want to aggravate them," Stars coach Glen Gulutzan said of Benn and Burish. "If we didn't need to play them Saturday and Sunday, we thought we'd give them a few days to get rid of those aggravations. You don't want those things lingering into the regular season."
Stars captain Brenden Morrow, who has been resting a tweaked knee, has been riding the bike.
"He's letting everyone know when he is targeting to play," said Gulutzan. "It's going to be hard to keep him out."
The Stars are expected to make some roster cuts later today.
"We'll get down to a little bit more manageable numbers," Gulutzan said. "We keep a few extra guys because were being cautious with Morrow, Burish and Benn and a few guys have earned a stay. But today we'll whittle down."
