Practice notes: Steve Ott update

FRISCO -- Stars forward Steve Ott is out for Sunday's game against Carolina and it doesn't look like he'll be ready for Tuesday's game at Washington. Ott, who missed last night's game with a hip pointer, won't travel with the team to start the upcoming road trip but there is hope he'll be ready to play Friday in Pittsburgh.

"These last two days have been real good. He's made some improvements and he is not in as much discomfort," Stars coach Glen Gulutzan said after Saturday's practice. "I think Tuesday is a stretch because we need him to practice a couple days. I think we are going to move that to Friday. He's going to stay back for the first bit of the trip so he can rehab and possibly get on the ice here by himself."

Kari Lehtonen will start in goal Sunday in Carolina. Andrew Raycroft will play in one of the four games during the road trip, but Gulutzan said which one of the games will be determined later.

The forward lines in practice looked the same as last night's game. Defensive pairs were mixed in the practice. Here were the forward lines:

Eriksson-Benn-Ryder

Morrow-Ribeiro-Burish

Nystrom-Fiddler-Dvorak

Wandell/Barch-Dowell-Petersen
