Ryane Clowe fined for slash on Stephane Robidas

San Jose forward Ryane Clowe was fined $2,500 for his slash on Stars forward Stephane Robidas in Saturday's game at American Airlines Center.

San Jose Sharks forward Ryane Clowe has been fined $2,500, the maximum allowed under the Collective Bargaining Agreement, for slashing Dallas Stars defenseman Stephane Robidas in NHL Game No. 284 Saturday night in Dallas, the National Hockey League’s Department of Player Safety announced today.

The incident occurred at 15:35 of the third period. No penalty was assessed on the play.

The fine money goes to the Players' Emergency Assistance Fund.
