Here are some quotes after the Dallas Stars defeated Ottawa Senators 3-2 at American Airlines Center Thursday night.

Stars forward Eric Nystrom on the comeback

“Games are 60 minutes. We may not necessarily have had our best legs early on, but we were getting better and better. They scored one but there was still plenty of time left and we popped a couple of late ones. That’s the character we have on our team. We are never going to give up until that final buzzer goes. We’ve won games like this and this is just another example of it.”

Stars coach Glen Gulutzan on the game-winning goal by the third line

“Just the work of that Fiddler-Dvorak-Nystrom line – they just worked and worked and worked. I am just glad they scored because I don’t know if they would have had the energy to backcheck had they not. They put in a lot of effort to get that. It was a huge sign of character from that group.”

Stars goaltender Andrew Raycroft, who improved to 2-0-0 since taking over for the injured Kari Lehtonen

“I feel more and more comfortable. Just with little details, like with the puck behind the net and reading plays. You just feeling like you have a little more time the more you play, at least for me. It’s nice. You just keep working hard, and we guys come back and score big goals for you that feels good too.”

Stars forward Steve Ott on the team finally cashing in on the power play

“The power play has been ugly for a long time. It’s been tough and we’ve all been beating ourselves over it. We want to have success on the power play because it wins you game and loses you games. Petey (Toby Petersen) made a great shot from the point, I got a stick on it and it was finally nice to get back on the right side of the power play.”

Ottawa coach Paul MacLean

“I think it’s just disappointing. When you have the lead in this league, you have to continue to play, have to play hard and make sure you stay committed. I think it’s part of the learning process for us of how to win games on the road. We can’t take things for granted.”
