DALLAS -- Philadelphia Flyers coach Peter Laviolette shoved Dallas Stars forward Steve Ott as players were leaving the ice after the first period of Wednesday's game at American Airlines Center.

As Dallas players were filing down the tunnel to head to their locker room, Laviolette tried to get by but was blocked by Ott and eventually the Flyers coach shoved the Stars forward so he could go down the tunnel. Ott thought the Flyers coach should have waited for the Dallas players to file off and then head down the tunnel.

"It's disrespect of our building. Just let our team off. It's not that big of a deal," Ott said. "He obviously thought he has a higher power than everybody else and a little bit more arrogance than most coaches in the NHL. That's probably the first time I've seen that. I would never do that against Philadelphia if I was in their building. Just show a little respect, that's all."

Laviolette didn't want to discuss the incident after the game, saying he preferred to focus on his team's 4-1 victory over the Stars.

“We just had a big win and moved back into first place in the Eastern Conference," Laviolette said. "Unfortunately the Blackhawks won but we should probably keep it about the game because it was such a big win for our team.”

When asked if the incident had anything to do with Ott's hard hit on Flyers center Claude Giroux in the first period, Laviolette again shifted the focus to the results of the game.

“What a huge win for our organization tonight. It was a big win for our organization on the road," he said. "We get one of our top players out and a chance to move into first overall in the Eastern Conference. I’m sure that’s what you guys want to talk about.”

Here's video of the incident.
