FRISCO, Texas -- Stars coach Glen Gulutzan said defenseman Philip Larsen is still "five to seven days away" from returning after experiencing concussion-like symptoms.

Larsen was hit in the second period of the Stars' 4-2 win over the Boston Bruins on Saturday at American Airlines Center. Jordie Benn, brother of forward Jamie Benn, was called up and played in Larsen's place in Tuesday's loss to the Red Wings. Jordie Benn played well and we'll see if it earns him more time on Thursday in Nashville, even if Stephane Robidas returns from a foot injury.

Other notes:

* The Stars depart this afternoon for Nashville. They are currently 10th in the Western Conference, but just two points out of the eighth and final playoff spot.

* Dallas had an optional practice on Wednesday in Frisco. Gulutzan said he wanted to give the club a break, noting that they've had a pretty busy schedule in recent weeks.
