About the Stars

The Stars (21-16-1) are coming off a 5-4 loss to Detroit at American Airlines Center on Tuesday. It was the Stars third loss in the last four games and their fourth in the last six.

“I just thought we made a couple of lazy mistakes and we made a couple structural mistakes that we shouldn’t make,” Stars coach Glen Gulutzan said. “They’re the team that can make you pay pretty quickly, as you see. I thought our compete level was up but you can’t make mistakes like that against this club.”

The Stars activated defenseman Stephane Robidas (foot) from injured reserve on Wednesday and assigned defenseman Brenden Dillon to the Texas Stars of the AHL.

Injuries: D Stephane Robidas (foot) is questionable. D Sheldon Souray (ankle), D Philip Larsen (concuss-ion-like symptoms) and RW Tomas Vincour (knee) are out.

About the Predators

The Predators (21-14-4) won their third straight game, defeating Calgary 5-3 Sunday in Nashville. Sergei Kostitsyn scored three goals for the Predators.

“I was expecting it to be 2-2 and a shootout or overtime," Nashville coach Barry Trotz said. “We talked about making sure we were really focused on the game. … We took over in the second period. Halfway through the first period and the entire second period we were excellent. We didn't give them anything. We stayed on the puck and we had lots of chances.”

Defenseman Shea Weber, who has missed the last four games with a concussion he suffered on a hit by Dallas defenseman Mark Fistric on December 23, practiced Wednesday, but his return date is still up in the air.

Injuries: D Shea Weber (concussion) and F Colin Wilson (upper body) are questionable.
