Here are some notes and a statistical update on Dallas Stars prospects playing junior hockey, in Europe and in college.
*F Matej Stransky (6th round/2011) has 6 points (4 goals, 2 assists) over the last three games. Stransky leads Saskatoon of the WHL in scoring with 48 points (25 goals, 23 assists) in 45 games. His 25 goals are tied for 12th in the WHL.
*D Jamie Oleksiak (1st round/2011) has no points and an even rating in his first three games since being acquired by Niagara of the OHL. Niagara won all three games .
*F Alex Guptill (3rd round/2010) had two goals and two assists as 15th ranked Michigan took two games from 2nd ranked Ohio State over the weekend. Guptill, a freshman, has 8 points (3 goals, 5 assists) over his last four games and is second on Michigan in scoring with 24 points (12 goals, 12 assists) in 26 games. His 24 points are tied for second nationally in freshman scoring. With the two victories, Michigan climbed to 10th in the polls.
*F Alex Chiasson (2nd round/2009) has points in five of his last six games (1 goal, 6 assists), including 3 assists in Boston University’s 4-3 overtime win over Harvard this past weekend. Chiasson, a junior, now has 19 points (6 goals, 13 assists) this season for BU, which has climbed to No. 2 in the USCHO.com poll and No.3 in the USA Today Poll.
F Reilly Smith (3rd round/2009) has 7 points (3 goals, 4 assists) in the last six games for Miami University. Smith, a junior, has 21 points (14 goals, 7 assists) in 21 games. His 14 goals are tied for 11th in the nation.
*F Austin Smith (5th round/2007) scored two goals in Colgate’s 6-2 loss to Princeton over the weekend. Smith, a senior, leads the nation in goal scoring with 22 in 22 games. He’s tied for second with 35 points.
*F Scott Winkler (3rd round/2008) had two goals and one assist in two games for Colorado College, currently ranked 11th in the nation, this past weekend. Winkler, a junior, has 21 points (6 goals, 15 assists) in 20 games.
