Here are some postgame quotes following the Dallas Stars 3-2 overtime win over the Calgary Flames Thursday night.

Stars coach Glen Gulutzan

“I was happy with the start. I mean both teams were ready. We’re in a playoff battle against each other, but I thought we had energy and we played the right way. We got pucks deep and we grinded. I thought they were prepared as well but I thought we stuck with it for 60 and that’s the biggest thing.”

Gulutzan on Mike Ribeiro’s overtime goal

“I don’t know if it was a little Gordie Howeish there where he’s changing hands and then changing back. I’m glad he shot it because we bug him to shoot all the time, and it was a real nice shot. I can’t get my head around it quite, the stick maneuver there. I’ll have to see the replay.”

Stars forward Mike Ribeiro on the win

“We need to close games better and to be able to get two points today was the main thing. It doesn’t matter how you get them nowadays, just get some points and we were able to get two.”

Stars forward Steve Ott

“Those are the fun playoff games that you like to talk about. For us, the points are so ridiculously close and we’re scratching for any extra ones we can get. What a sick, individual play by Mike Ribeiro to cap it off.”

Flames captain Jarome Iginla

“We would have loved to get both points but it’s still a very important one. We had a really good third period there to create some chances and I thought at different times, they were going pretty well. The second period, they were a lot better than we were and I thought we were better in the third to stick with it, get some chances and finally get that tying goal. It doesn’t feel too good right now to lose in OT, but it’s still a very important point and we’ll take it.”
