Injury updates: Jamie Benn won't play Tuesday

DALLAS -- Dallas Stars forward Jamie Benn will miss his third straight game with a cut on his leg when the Dallas Stars play at Montreal on Tuesday.

"He won't be a player for Montreal, but he is going on the trip," said Stars coach Glen Gulutzan.

The Stars also play at Chicago on Thursday during the two-game road trip.

Benn was injured last Thursday when he was cut on the leg by the skate of Calgary defenseman Mark Giordano.

Dallas defenseman Sheldon Souray, who has missed the last six games with a foot injury, has skated two days in a row and isn't being ruled out for the Montreal game on Tuesday.

"He's ready as long as we can get him in condition," Gulutzan said. "I would say he is 50-50 at best for Montreal, but he is going on the trip."

Stars captain Brenden Morrow, who has missed the last nine games with neck/shoulder issues, could be out another couple weeks.

"I think that when Brenden finishes a little bit of rehab here, he should be a player in the first week of March," Gulutzan said.
