Dallas Stars Prospects: Notes and Stats

Here are some notes and a statistical update on Dallas Stars prospects playing junior hockey, in Europe and in college.

*RW Reilly Smith (3rd round/2009) had two goals in two games over the weekend for Miami University. Smith, a junior, now has 23 goal in 32 games and ranks second in the nation in goal scoring.

*F Austin Smith (5th round/2007) scored one goal in two games for Colgate over the weekend. Smith, a senior, now has 33 goals in 32 games and leads the nation in goal scoring.

*RW Alex Chiasson (2nd round/2009) had one goal and three assists in Boston University’s 7-4 win over Massachusetts-Lowell on Friday. Chiasson, a junior, has 35 points (12 goals, 23 assists) in 29 games and leads BU in points.

*RW Brett Ritchie (2nd round/2011) has 14 points (9 goals, 5 assists) and a plus-14 rating in his last 14 games for Niagara of the Ontario Hockey League.

*D Jamie Oleksiak (1st round/2011) has 7 points (2 goals, 5 assists) and a plus-10 rating in his last six games for Niagara of the OHL.

*RW Matej Stransky (6th round/2011) has five goals in his last seven games for Saskatoon of the Western Hockey League. Stransky leads Saskatoon in goals (33) and points (62) in 58 games played.

*D Jyrki Jokipakka (7th round/2011) logged 28:20 of ice time and had six shots on goal in his most recent game for Ilves of the Finnish Elite League. In the game before that, Jokipakka logged 26:07 of ice time. For the season Jokipakka is averaging 19:41 of ice time and has 12 points (6 goals, 6 assists) in 43 games.
