Sydor retires, heads into coaching

Former Stars defenseman Darryl Sydor is retiring and joining the coaching ranks. He was named an assistant coach with the Houston Aeros today. Houston is the AHL affiliate of the Minnesota Wild.

Sydor played 18 NHL seasons and 1,291 games, including more than 700 with the Stars. He was a member of the Stars' 1999 Stanley Cup team and won a Cup with Tampa Bay in 2004.
