About the Stars

The Stars (3-0-0) ran their season opening winning streak to three games with a 4-1 victory over Detroit at American Airlines Center Thursday night. Kari Lehtonen made 25 saves and Brad Richards led the offensive attack with one goal and two assists. The three-game winning streak is the team’s first since January 2009.

“I don’t think we’re looking to accomplish three in a row as our goal this year, but it happens to be that and it happens to be at the start of the season. It’s very important,” said Richards. “We are gaining some momentum and I really like how we’re playing.”

Lehtonen will start in goal in Saturday.

Injuries: C Jamie Benn (concussion-like symptoms) is out.

About the Blues

The Blues (2-1-0) are coming off a 4-3 loss at Nashville Thursday night. The Blues fell behind 3-1 in the first period with two of Nashville’s goals coming on the power play.

"I don't think we brought enough attention to the first period," St. Louis coach Davis Payne said. "We were slow to react, we were slow to move our feet, and we took two penalties based on not moving our feet."

Saturday’s game is the second of a three-game road trip for St. Louis.

Injuries: F Vladimir Sobotka (shoulder), F Cam Janssen (concussion), D Nikita Nikitin (wrist) are out.
