Here's a quote from Stars coach Marc Crawford following his team's 2-1 win over the St. Louis Blues Saturday night. The Stars scored twice in the third period to overcome a 1-0 deficit. It was the Stars' third straight win and their fifth in the last seven games (5-1-1).
“We weathered the storm in the first period and sometimes you have to do that. The Blues have been so good at home and their crowd is so good, it probably served to inspire them. Our goalie played well in that first period, especially. I thought our best period was the last one and that’s what we needed it to be. For our club, probably the most gratifying thing for this victory is that we had contributions from a lot of people tonight. Whether it was our forwards, the people that took draws did a great job. Our defense, I thought, weathered a real strong forecheck from the Blues. At the end, we persevered and got the tying goal off a real good rush and our power play finally connected. Our power play has been a little bit stagnant lately. We had all elements of our game contributing tonight.”
