Kari Lehtonen will start in goal tonight against the Columbus Blue Jackets. Lehtonen will start for the second straight game after missing four games with a sore back. He stopped 39 of 43 shots Thursday in a 4-3 overtime loss to San Jose.

With Lehtonen starting tonight in Columbus, Andrew Raycroft is expected to get the start in Detroit on Sunday.

Mathieu Garon will start for the Blue Jackets tonight. He’s 7-3-2 with a 1.97 goals-against average and a .925 save percentage. He was in goal when the Blue Jackets beat the Stars 3-2 in a shootout Dec. 6, stopping 16 of 18 shots in the game and two of three in the shootout.

Steve Mason, the guy the Blue Jackets are counting on to be the No. 1 goaltender, has struggled. He’s been pulled in three of his last four games and a league-high 12 times this season. He has lost six of his last seven decisions.
